As an activist, educator, and entrepreneur, my motto is “be crazy enough to believe you can.” This motto aids us in  affirming our dreams and goals as we work together to create a better community in District 3.

In conjunction with currently earning my MBA at Clark Atlanta University, I am the CEO/Founder of the Creative Surge Company. The Creative Surge Company is  a business consulting and venture capitalist company. With ownership in a number of small businesses and being a stakeholder in various nonprofits and organizations, I am committed to creating a seat at the table so we all can thrive.

I currently own and have shared ownership in the following: The Divine Agency a media, entertainment and talent company, BER Homes Atlanta a real estate, landscaping, renovations, and decor company, My HBCU Matters a clothing brand that promotes the important of Historically Black Colleges & Universities, Our HBCUs Matter Foundation, Creating Our Atlanta Non-Profit.
A native of Atlanta and product of Atlanta Public Schools, I attended Frederick Douglass High School, where I immersed myself in a number of activities that aided in my development and growth. In 2011, I received my Bachelor’s of Arts from Columbia College Chicago, while on a Music Scholarship, I majored in Music and Journalism. Alongside attending Columbia College Chicago I also attended Harold Washington Community College where I took a majority of my general education courses. During my time in Chicago, I delved into the culture, essence and color of the city.

In 2012, I brought my talents back to the city of Atlanta and  became a full-time educator within Atlanta Public Schools at Benjamin E. Mays High School. While Winning Academy Teacher of the Year in 2012 and YBI Teacher of The Year in 2015, one of the biggest highlights of my tenure in public education is when my students won 4th in the State of Georgia for the Broadcast News Show “WMHS News”. Even today I continue uplifting my community through my business efforts and non-profit organization Creating Our Atlanta, Inc.

As a budding entrepreneur and young professional I continue to employ high school students, college students, felons reentering the workforce and those within my community.  A White House HBCU Initiative Scholar, a  Regional Leader from the Southern Equity Partners Organization, CLI Graduate of the City of Atlanta NPU Leader Program, a Ready to Lead Leader for New American Leaders, a Graduate Ambassador at Clark Atlanta University, I am also a part of the NAACP, a member of the Atlanta chapter of the NBMBAA, a committee member on the Frederick Douglass Alumni Association, member of the Harvel Homes Community Club and Columbia College Chicago Atlanta Alumni Chapter.
